Film Internships

The Department of Motion Pictures evovled from Court 13, the production company that made 'Beasts of the Southern Wild'.  Projects evolve rapidly so interns that are flexible is a must.  We love to get our interns involved and frequently an internship will lead to ongoing work on company projects.

Internships are a 6 month commitment, approx. 20hrs/week unpaid.  Summer internships are also available on a shorter term basis

​

Intern Duties

• Research for development of film projects

• Writing in various forms

• Grant research and preparation,

• Runs

• Event production help

• Art department and general production needs

• General organizational, clerical and office help

​

Required or Suggested Skills

• Good writing skills

• Able to work independently on projects with directions from project leaders

• Enthusiastic, problem solving skills and follow through and good vibes are essential

• Photoshop

• Adobe Premiere or Final Cut

• MS Word and Excell

• Adobe Indesign

• Quickbooks

• Basic Editing and graphic design principles

Internship Duties

• Handle incoming phone and emails

• Schedule appointments

• Maintain office calendar of events

• Assist in maintaining talent profiles and databases

• Assist with movie, TV and commercial talent submissions and interact with production personnel

• Assist in editing content to our existing website as well as updating our social media accounts

• Archiving the agency's video library and converting to digital media (Video/Media studies interns)

Required Skills Needed

• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications skills

• Journalism, English or Media Studies coursework or experience is a significant plus but not required

• Self-reliant work ethic
