Need An Intern?

Internship Partners

Having student interns is a great way for your company or organization to find help and possibly employees down the road. It has been a successful program for students and companies alike for over fifteen years.

The goal of the internship program is to give the students an opportunity to work in a professional environment and learn from skilled people.  This will give you a person who is very interested in your industry and organization and who is eager to learn.

Students are required to work a minimum of 120 hours for 3 hours of class credit (please see the syllabus below for full requirements for the students).  In a regular semester this works out to about 8 hours per week.  But you may schedule the student's work time in a manner that fits your company and the student's schedules best.  Although the internship class is usually not offered in the summer, students may intern in the summer and get credit the following fall.

Once a student has finished his or her internship the department will need an evaluation form filled out by the student's supervisor (see below) and a confirmation that the student worked 120 hours.  This confirmation can be an email to the internship director or a signed log sheet showing the 120 hours worked.
