JOB OPPORTUNITY: Pick-Up Shots For A Micro-Budget Documentary Feature About Street Musician Brian Belknap.
DIRECTOR: Adam Rifkin
PRODUCERS: Jim Newberry, Cole Lannum, Adam Rifkin
SHOOT DURATION: Roughly 4 hours.
APPROX SHOOT DATE: On a day within the range of 3/24 - 3/29.
CONTENT: Street musician Brian Belknap will be performing as his “One Man Swamp Band” in the French Quarter and we need a 2 camera crew to shoot his performance, as well as capture the tourists and locals who stop and listen to him, speak with him and put money in his hat. It’s a feature documentary not a television segment or a music video so it needs to be shot simply and elegantly. One camera should focus primarily on a well composed single shot of Brian singing while the 2nd camera should capture a variety of creatively composed coverage: wide, medium, close, his hands playing, his feet tapping, etc.. As well as shots of the people gathered around listening to him.
SPECS: Two cameras, 4K, 24fps (Sony A7 series would be ideal to match what we shot previously but definitely not a dealbreaker, any 4k cameras will be fine). Also need clean audio. Sync sound recorded to camera or separate device. From a shotgun mic on camera or a boom. Also a lav on Brian. High quality sound is definitely a priority.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: The director will not be present for the shoot so whoever gets the job needs to be comfortable taking charge of their own shoot and keeping things running smoothly. Prior to the shoot you will also speak with the director so everyone is on the same page creatively. The director will be available by phone or FaceTime during the shoot.
PAY: $150 each for 2 person crew, plus credit on the film as well as on IMDb.
