Responsibilities
Conceptualize, produce, and implement multimedia and visual communications to help communicate the university’s brand.
Video and photograph assigned University events, functions, and assignments.
Expertise with social and online media.
Manage creative assets.
Develop, produce and distribute digital video projects on a wide variety of platforms.
Work with various departments within the University on strategic video projects from the conceptual development stage, through implementation, to delivery of the finished product via multiple channels.
Provide still photography to be used in, publication, press release, web sites, social media, research, public relations.
Responsible for archival and file storage.
Perform all post-production tasks, including such duties as video editing, music and/or effects selection, title creation and design, and graphics.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and test video and/or other equipment as assigned.
Take still photographs to incorporate in social media, web, and/or news as needed.
Interface with multiple distribution platforms, such as college/university’s web site, social media, broadcast channels, and other electronic media.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; 2-4 years of video and multimedia production experience; Skill in video and photo editing; Working knowledge of professional video editing and graphic creation software such as Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator CS6 or CC, Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects and similar software;
Ability to effectively tell a story visually.
Demonstrated ability to produce a news and/or promotional video – from concept to delivery.
Demonstrated ability to conduct ‘on the fly’ interviews with the subjects of videos.
Design video projects based on college/university priorities and intended for multiple audiences, both internal and external.
A strong familiarity with social media platforms and the latest trends and best practices for multimedia applications.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to listen, respond to, and relate to colleagues and clients.
Teamwork skills and a willingness to share knowledge and expertise to achieve common goals.
Ability to manage multiple projects successfully, working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
Confidence and ability to quickly make good decisions during tight deadlines and pressure-filled situations while on location shoots or in-house productions.
Ability to be energetic and proactive with creative and innovative ideas.
Superb organizational skills particularly in regard to file management and media formats.
Knowledge to recommended current video and photographic equipment and supplies.
Ability to be available evenings and weekends when needed and have an appreciation of a solution-oriented work environment that is not bound by a 9-5 mentality.
Accountability for the entire field gear while in house and while on the field.
Ability to move 50 pounds regularly.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photo Mechanic; Proficiency in motion graphics, animation, photography etc.; Graphic design experience and/or ability
