Overview The UNO Office of Research is seeking a motivated student intern to assist with filming, editing, and producing video spotlights on UNO students, faculty, and staff. All videos should feature research activity on campus and promote the University of New Orleans. The ideal candidate would be an undergraduate major in film or a related field. The position offers approximately 5 hours a week with a flexible weekly schedule.
Responsibilities
• Works collaboratively with the Office Manager to produce high-quality video spotlights
• Interviews UNO students, faculty, and staff about their work and research activity on campus
• Films interview subjects using a DSLR camera provided by the Office of Research • Captures engaging B-roll footage in a variety of locations
• Edits video footage into 3- to 5-minute spotlights for YouTube, social media, the UNO Research website, and other digital channels
• Utilizes a PC and free filmmaking programs to produce quality videos
• Assists in planning for future video content
• Occasionally films and/or photographs live events
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• An undergraduate student at the University of New Orleans
• Available to work at least 5 hours a week
• Excellent with DSLR cameras, filming, and photography
• Proficient with filmmaking software such as Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut, and/or HitFilm Express
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Thinks creatively and works collaboratively
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to handle confidential matters
• Must be permanently eligible to work in the United States
Preferred:
• Student of film or related field
• Interested in a position spanning several semesters
Bonus:
• Interested in web design, social media, marketing, or communications
