Marketing Contractor
Position Summary
The Marketing Contractor will handle public communications about NOVAC programming and events, including web, social media and newsletter management, as well as internal communications with staff across two cities. The Marketing Contractor reports directly to and works closely with the Executive Director.
Position Responsibilities
Although the following list is not exhaustive, it covers a wide range of the Marketing Contractor’s responsibilities:
Draft and disseminate press releases as required by programming
Draft all external communications
Manage the design and upkeep of NOVAC’s website
Coordinate with media for fundraising events and other special events
Develop and produce NOVAC communications packets
Write and manage monthly email updates
Expand NOVAC’s online presence and create and manage social media postings
Performing other duties as assigned to meet the needs of NOVAC.
Qualifications
Extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite or similar platform
Proficient use of WordPress and Mailchimp
Strong written communication skills
Experience using social media outlets to increase community engagement
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work consistent, yet flexible hours
This is a 10-hour per week contract position. Starting at $30 per hour, negotiable depending on experience. Work is primarily remote, with some, safe in-person assignments.

Workforce Program Paid Internship
Position Summary
The NOVAC Workforce Program Intern provides programmatic assistance and organizational development support film & TV industry recruitment, training and job placement on productions nationally. This programming fosters a more creative and inclusive production workforce and aligns with NOVAC’s commitment to access and inclusion. The Workforce Program Intern reports directly to and works closely with the Recruitment and Job Placement Coordinator.
Position Responsibilities
Evaluate, design, and provide support on a branding/narrative front – spotlights/success stories
Access program drives, docs, and spreadsheets to provide weekly updates
Support PA/intern stat tracking and data reporting to studio partners
Research national production assignments and production trends
Research nonprofits and tax incentive programs
Assist with coordinating set visits or internships
Schedule exit interviews (google calendar/you can book me)
Gather participant profiles – making decks quarterly – capturing stories
Help systematize post placement involvement
Support digital and social media outreach
Communicate with partners via quarterly updates and check-ins
Manage Submittable archive
Qualifications
Based in Baton Rouge or New Orleans
Some experience or a strong interest to work in the film, entertainment & media industry
Some experience or strong interest in workforce development, labor relations, staff diversity efforts
Proficient in: Google Suite, Submittable, Adobe Acrobat Reader, You Can Book Me, and MailChimp.
Ability to work consistent, yet flexible hours
This is a 10-hour per week contract position. The rate is $20 per hour. Work is primarily remote, with some, safe in-person assignments. College students are strongly encouraged to apply.
