FREELANCE
My name is K$K (aka Kira) and I’m a director and filmmaker currently living in New York City. I’m coming down to New Orleans to work on my short film “Freelance” and am in need of some
production assistants, and some 2nd Camera work for a few of the films’ scenes. My films have been shown in festivals throughout the USA and Canada, and my music video work has been featured in major publications like The Source and Complex Magazine. Since I come from a hip-hop background a lot of my films are inspired by music videos and current rap culture. The film I’m working on in New Orleans is an exploration of what sexual assault and the aftermath does to a person’s mind. I would love to have as many students be involved as possible. The film will feature members of New Orleans’ own Jet Life Recordings and will be shot in part by the talented local photographer Laiken Joy.
Below I have listed the dates and times of the shoots. I’ll choose people based on a first come basis. Please TEXT me your name, what dates and times you are available, the position you’re interested in. If you would be down to do some of the camera work, and have anything on youtube or vimeo please include a link to that. For camera people I will prioritize those with work examples, but it’s not a requirement. Thank you!
