———————————

We utilize media production and the power of story telling to educate and inspire today youth

We execute our mission in two ways. Two measurable footprints with one vision.

One of the ways we implement our mission is by creating content for children produced by children. We do this by partnering with public and charter schools in the Greater New Orleans area and working with their students. We call this our Programs.

Each program is hosted by a student and a co-host.

A program is filmed on a Saturday and then edited into 4 episodes ranging from 2 to 8 minutes long. These episodes make up 4 weeks of content released weekly on YouTube.

The first episode is the student’s story. We have prompts that are given the to co-host prior to filming and cue cards in case they’re needed (depending on the student’s age). The student gets to share a story about himself that is important to him. In order to help this process, prior to filming we talk and provide guidelines for the student.

The second episode is the co-host’s story. The co-host is a local New Orleanian. Each program we get a different co-host in order to broaden the horizon of potential professions for our viewing audience. The questions for the co-host are centered around her profession and lessons learned.

At the end of each of these episodes, we ask why it was important to share this story and what the audience should takeaway from it.

During the third episode, the student and the co-host draw cards that prompt them on what to talk about. These questions range from “what inventor would you nominate as a hero” to “if a friend’s cell phone accidentally called you would you listen to the conversation?” This is a Lightening Round of questions between the student and the co-host and the last part of filming.

But it’s not over yet.

The week after filming, our student brings us to his classroom. During the visit, he tells his peers about the story telling process and then the class breaks up into small groups. In their groups, they use the Kid Cams that we provide to record each of them telling parts of their own story. A highlight reel is created from the classroom visit and edited and to make up the fourth and final episode of the program.

The second way we implement our mission is by creating content from children produced by professionals. Our national footprint, quite simply, is a production house that makes high quality content with the audience in mind.

Everything that we create is both educational and morally sound.

UNO Internship Request

We would love to have an intern for the Spring 2021 semester.

This intern would help with the filming of our programs and would do all of the post-production editing. Like noted above, our programs are filmed on a Saturday, over about 3 hours, and edited into 4 episodes ranging in 2 to 8 minutes long. These are narrative episodes that are created so that children can start seeing their own stories as important and valuable. We also want to help them learn more about the possibilities available to them beyond Instagram likes and YouTube view counts.

It’s time to start utilizing the source that children turn to most frequently and that defines for them what’s important as something educational and inspiring - in stark contrast to what it most often is right now: detrimental.

We have all the equipment the intern would need - computer, camera, etc.

@joverton5 - How would I supply postings for paid project opportunities. Not an internship. I own a local playground company and we like to film our community builds etc. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-Re9R59CNqH2mt6LB-mX2A/featured
